The OnBase Integration for PFU TimeStamp Service provides indisputable proof that the contents of any document in OnBase existed at a specific time and have not changed since that time. The PFU TimeStamp Service enables organisations to be compliant with several domestic and international regulations, offers document/record authentication and facilitates real-time intellectual property management.

Both the creation and verification of the TimeStamp can be triggered through a right-click option, making the integration extremely easy to use and requiring little or no training. The OnBase  Records Management module can also initiate creation of the TimeStamp when a managed folder moves from open status to closed or cutoff status. All documents included in the managed folder will be automatically TimeStamped at the point of transition. This allows organisations to add an extra layer of record authenticity to their retention strategies.

The verification of the TimeStamp can also occur through a right-click option in the folder documents window or the document viewer in the file cabinet. During verification, OnBase compares the current hash value of the document against the stored TimeStamped hash and if the two values match, the document has not been altered. OnBase utilizes the SHA-512 hash algorithm to generate the hash value, which is used to uniquely and securely identify a document.
