Integration for Microsoft InfoPath®

The OnBase Integration for Microsoft InfoPath makes it possible to automatically import InfoPath forms into OnBase so they can be managed, tracked, archived and routed through Workflow . Information from Microsoft InfoPath forms is shared with OnBase as XML data. Because both OnBase and InfoPath are easy to use and configure, organisations can quickly create effective complementary solutions that increase productivity and maximize the strengths of both applications.

After a form is designed with the easy-to-use WYSIWYG InfoPath designer, a connector is inserted into each form to be executed when the form is submitted. This connector imports the XML data into OnBase. The form can support multiple connectors, so the data can automatically populate a line-of-business application and be archived into OnBase at the same time, without any action on the part of the user.

OnBase creates one central repository into which the data can be submitted from anywhere, as long as there is a network connection. Once in OnBase, InfoPath documents can be utilized like any other documents in OnBase, including being part of a workflow. When the document is viewed within OnBase, it is opened in an InfoPath window and OnBase supports all of the features InfoPath provides.

Application

organisations using Microsoft's InfoPath product to create electronic forms can optimize existing investments with the implementation of the OnBase integration for Microsoft InfoPath because of the ability to easily store and route those forms within OnBase. The reduction of paper costs in terms of purchasing, scanning, management and archiving enable the Integration for Microsoft InfoPath to impact a business rapidly. organisations can also design applications that reduce labor requirements by combining OnBase with Microsoft InfoPath and other Microsoft applications to facilitate straight-through processing.

For example, an accounting department that uses Microsoft InfoPath to generate their invoices can automatically send the data to OnBase to be stored. This provides one central repository for the invoices and assurance that every invoice is stored consistently. Security and retention are then placed around those documents to assure that only those who have privileges to view them may do so while preventing them from becoming a liability. The invoices can be retrieved later to support any questions or disputes that may arise.
