Rules and actions can be configured under a timer. These rules and actions will execute and take place at specific points in time, or once the timer has lapsed.

OnBase Workflow provides multiple timer types. A timer can be triggered when a document or documents have been resident in a state for a defined amount of time. This ensures that documents are not sitting idle for extended periods of time.

Notifications can be used to send internal and external e-mail notices to users whenever a notification action is used. Notifications can automatically be triggered by timers to deliver messages to the appropriate person. Messages can be sent with or without documents.
