What operating system is on the database server (version and service pack)?
What is the MS SQL Server or Oracle version? (Include the service pack, if applicable.)
What is the total storage capacity of the server?
About Your Disk Groups
What is the total data size of the Disk Groups (in MB or GB)?
OnBase Disk Groups are organized by volume, with the volume size set in
OnBase Configuration (go to Disk Mgmt-Disk Groups-Settings).
Volumes sizing is defined by CD, DVD, or Custom. Based on this information:
  • What is your configured OnBase Disk Group volume size?
  • How many volumes do you typically fill in a month?
About Your Backup
Tape Drive/Library/Format (e.g., DLT, SDLT, AIT, LTO2)

Backup Software:
  • Type and version
Do you first use SQL or Oracle to backup the database to disk and then move it to tape,
or do you backup the database files directly to tape?
Do you run transaction log backups?
Do you create optical backup copies of your Disk Group volumes?
